Petula has been an illustrator for over 25 years and her work has appeared in children's books and magazines, on packaging and greetings cards and prints and stamps and on TV. Her styles of work are decorative and varied from detailed botanical observations to loose free watercolour paintings. Although Petula generates most of her work in the traditional way, she uses a Mac for sending roughs and artwork if preferred.

As well as being a busy illustrator, Petula also teaches at the University of Cambridge Botanic Garden and runs workshops from her studio in Suffolk.
