My style of paper sculpture illustration (sometimes called origami) is unique and, over the years, I have applied my paper engineering skills to a wide variety of projects.
I begin by producing an accurate line-drawing showing the proposed layout and detail of the paper sculpture. I then create the final paper model, staying as true to the drawing as possible as the image translates from 2D into 3D. It is then ready for photography, by either the client or my recommended photographer, as appropriate. Alternatively, there's also the "digital collage" route, whereby I scan the individual 3D elements and create simple cutouts and collage in Photoshop, achieving a different look and feel to the final illustration from photography.
