Powerful line work sits side-by-side with a strong stance on social issues in the work of London creative Cat Sims, making her an artist to watch on today’s illustration scene.
Any fresh idea and any medium Cat can get her hands on can be turned into imaginative imagery with a message, a story to tell – and just a hint of mayhem. Drawings are just the beginning as she tackles printmaking, t-shirts, zine publishing and filmmaking with the same radical eye and comic book inspired style.
“I draw inspiration from all sorts of different places - things I hear on the radio, overheard conversations, films I watch. Modernist architecture has been a big influence recently - particularly architects like Neave Brown and Erno Goldfinger,” says Cat.
Outside of drawing, Cat loves plants, music and film. She’s learning to play the drums, and also collects mid-century West German ceramics.
