Gustavo Brigante

Gustavo Brigante's Profile Photo

Based in Buenos Aires, Gustavo loved science fiction magazines and comics when he was younger, as well as Anime. These influences got him into drawing and you can see traces of them in his work today.

Training

Gustavo is a self-taught illustrator, who came into the field from graphic design. He was being asked by an increasing number of clients to create illustrations for them in Photoshop and what was an excellent sideline has been converted into a successful career.

Approach

Sketching on paper or drawing on his graphics tablet first, Gustavo uses a range of software to develop his imagery including Photoshop, Cinema 4D and Illustrator – or a mix of all three. Lately, he’s been practicing speed painting, as well as creating more detailed illustrations using painting software on his graphics tablet.

Style

From 3D monsters, to loveable characters and on to complex, layered photography-based work, Gustavo has an eclectic portfolio. He’s like a restless artist, working in a particular style then moving on to another as he experiments and improves his skills, trying to discover a new look and feel for his next piece.
