Meme is a Mexican illustrator whose confident, colourful work has a fresh and lively feel. Influenced by street art and comic books, modern living and millennial fashion, this is an artist who is versatile and innovative, and whose colour palettes sing in rich, visual harmony.
Eye-catching and dramatic, Meme has become a go-to choice for major brands around the world. His practice has been built on many years of experience in graphic design and branding, honing his art direction and illustrative skills. Clients enjoy the collaborative way in which he works and his ideas-driven approach alongside the freshness of his style. Meme has a degree in Design and Graphic Communication from ESCOGRAF in Chihuahua and his influences range from Hieronymus Bosch to Kiichi Okamoto and on to practicing illustrators such as Malika Favre and Lili des Bellons. While he works, he listens to a range of Latin American musicians, both classical and contemporary.

Approach

The majority of the time, Meme creates illustrations digitally although he also enjoys working on large format pieces and painting.

Style

Meme describes his style as a re-interpretation of Baroque and Art Deco, through the filter of graphic design. He abstracts and stylises, adds intricacy and brings something new and unique to each project.
